World AIDS Campaigns,2008 specials

This year's we mega World AIDS Campaign included a wide range of activities with different approaches through which we addressed a diverse target group; medical students, non-medical students, and the public.

Dreams we made come true:

1) National Events with participation of all 12 LCs in IFMSA-Egypt –SCORA:

1- National Conference on Enhancing Medical Education:

Under the auspices of the ministry of higher education, a huge conference was organized for medical schools to highlight the importance of HIV and AIDS in medical school curriculum.

Guests included school deans, professors, and medical students,

2- The Medical Students Peer Education Project in Egypt:

A comprehensive training tailored exclusively to enhance health care professionals’ basic knowledge and management of HIV and the care for PLHIV.

- Educators: 42

3- Youth Mobilization and Fun Day:

Open day with high varieties of activities to match all ages specially children and youth. The event's main aim was tackling stigma and discrimination by raising awareness and humanizing HIV/AIDS.

2) WAD celebrations on the local level:

Several local campaigns in 10 different cities all over Egypt, either in medical schools or public places aiming at raising awareness about HIV/AIDS.
