History
Location & Environment - Ismailia City is approximately 120 km from Cairo by the direct route "desert highway" or 135 km by the countryside road. - *Timsah means crocodile, don't be afraid it is only the shape of the lake on the map!- Lake Timsah is known for its calm water on which many beaches are located and where there is opportunity for many water sports. It covers an area of 14 square km. The beaches that overlook the lake are Moslem Youth, Fayrouz, Melaha, Taawen, in addition to the Suez Canal Authority beaches.

Transportation
Transportation to the Dormitory - From Cairo Airport, you can get into a bus to center of Cairo (Ramsis Square) 3 LE for air-conditioned one. - From Ramsis Square by Cairo metro (subway) to the terminal station New Marg (El Marg El Gedeeda). Be careful not stop in El Marg station, it is the last station before!!The cost is 1 LE. The metro works from 6AM to 1AM during the summer. - The bus station to Ismailia is outside the metro terminal. The bus costs 8 LE or 9 LE there is a bus every hour from 6AM to 8PM in the summer. - If no bus is available at the time, you can ask about the taxi station just outside the bus station to go to Ismailia (it costs 7 LE or 8 LE) and works all day and night (old Peugeot) but not safe..old cars !! The taxi is shared with six other passengers and will not leave until 7 passengers are in the taxi. - Before going to Ismailia, call the contact person to wait for you in the Bus station. It takes 1.5 hours from Cairo to Ismailia (120km). - Remember that if you do not find a bus at the airport, wait for some time because a taxi will cost you about 40-50 pounds to Cairo Center (for normal taxi, not a limousine) also a taxi from Cairo Center to Metro terminal will cost 20-30 pounds, private taxi to Ismailia may cost from 250-300 LE depending on the driver. - Contact your CP. He/she may provide some help and find a CP which may pick you from the airport and the incoming may pay some money for the fuel only.
Important Information Currency: The currency of Egypt is called the Pound (pl. Pounds). Pound banknotes are issued in the following denominations: 0.25, 0.50, 1, 5, 10, 20, 50, and 100 Pounds. Smaller values are issued as coins (piaster’s) with 1 Pound = 100 Piaster’s.
Currency exchange facilities are available in most banks, hotels and airports and operate normal business hours.
Credit cards are accepted at most restaurants and shops, the most widely used being MasterCard, Visa and American Express.
By the way 1 Euro ~ 7 pounds!!

Certification: We will give you your certificate on the last day of your clerkship or on your day of departure and it will be signed and stamped by the supervisor doctor and the LEO.
Passport & VISA: Visitors are required to be in possession of a valid passport. Entry visas may be obtained from Egyptian Diplomatic and Consular Missions Abroad. It is, however, possible for most visitors to obtain an entry visa at any of the Major Ports of Entry while those from the following countries are required to be in possession of a pre-arrival visa: Afghanistan, Algeria, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Croatia, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iraq, Iran, Israel, Lebanon, Macedonia, Malaysia, Moldavia, Morocco, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Russia, Serbia & Montenegro, Slovenia, Thailand, Tunisia, Ukraine and all African countries.
